Designed to build on and celebrate the
accomplishments of nonprofits across the country that are committed to
positive change for our sector and our communities.
- Follow-up on progress made in addressing the top priorities,
including celebrating our successes and recognizing innovative and
effective projects
- Inspire and further solidify a sense of unity and collective
purpose among nonprofits across mission-area, geography, and size
- Develop the capacity of attendees to address the top priorities,
including cross-fertilization of ideas and skill-building
educational sessions
- Allow attendees to grow and strengthen their networks
- Build relationships with and inform Congressional offices
through Lobby Day

Aging Summit 2008: Focus on Lifelong Learning
presented by the County of San Diego Health & Human
Services Agency, Aging and Independence Services
Keynote Speakers: Astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Dr.
Paul Nussbaum, Adjunct Associate Professor in Neurological Surgery at the
University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
The biennial Aging Summits were initiated by County
Supervisors Dianne Jacob and Pam Slater-Price as a way for community to come
together to talk about issues that are important to older adults, baby boomers
and other family members. The events include speakers and break-out sessions
where participants share their opinions and ideas.
