First Five Commission, County of San Diego - is committed to ensuring that every young child in San Diego County receives the support he/she needs to enter kindergarten "ready to learn." To achieve this vision, the Commission not only funds programs, but also advocates for policy change, helps to coordinate resources and builds community capacity to support long term improvements in the lives of San Diego's children and families.

Disaster Response and Preparedness

SDIVOAD: Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, San Diego / Imperial Counties - SDIVOAD exists to foster better service by its members to communities struck by disaster. This is done through preparedness activities that include planning among SDIVOAD members and providing education to the general public, and by responding to and helping communities recover from disaster.

Domestic Violence

San Diego Domestic Violence Council - To develop, promote and enhance creative prevention and effective intervention initiatives which will reduce the amount of violence in intimate relationships; to bring people together - in coalitions and committees - to build healthy families in San Diego County.

Housing and Homelessness

Homeownership Coalition of San Diego County - is a coalition that works to support people with disabilities to own their own home.

Regional Task Force on the Homeless - serves as a central clearinghouse on homelessness in San Diego County.

San Diego Housing Federation - a coalition of nonprofit and for=profit housing developers that promote the production of affordable housing for low income households. Takes positions on local, state and federal affordable housing issues. Puts on an annual conference on the 3rd Friday of October at Pt. Loma Nazarene University. Provides periodic training sessions throughout the year.

East County Human Services Council - The purpose is to be a region-wide influential advocate for healthy communities in East County. Using broad representation, we will proactively prioritize grassroots needs to increase resources in communities and to improve regional health, safety and well-being.

Mental Health

Children's Mental Health System of Care Council, County of San Diego - The purpose of the System of Care Council is to ensure that all agencies serving San Diego County children have coordinated services resulting in improved child, family, and system outcomes consistent with System of Care Values and Principles. The Council advises and provides input to the County Mental Health Director.

Broad and active participation of key stakeholders, providers, consumers and consumer advocates involved with the care of frail elderly and disabled in San Diego is pivotal to the success of the LTCIP planning process. To date, local stakeholders have devoted more than 15,000 hours of time and in-kind support to the LTCIP. All LTCIP planning meetings and workgroups are open to the public and we welcome new members. All new members should call LTCIP staff to confirm the date and time of the meeting posted.

San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) Vendor Advisory Committee - is a selected group of vendors to advise the SDRC, not their board, which holds other contracts/grants, etc. The advisory committee is chaired by Skip Covell, as the elected member by the vendors to sit on the Board of Directors for SDRC.

Transportation

SANDAG's Coordinated Transportation Service Agency (CTSA) Council on Access and Mobility (CAM) (formerly the Paratransit Coordinating Council (PCC) - the region’s transportation coordination agency facilitates the coordination of all appropriate agencies and transportation providers into transportation networks for each sub-regional area, and hosts meetings to provide a forum for these networks to discuss unmet transportation needs and to develop solutions to address these needs. The main objective of the CTSA is to expand the availability of specialized transportation services by improved use of existing resources through coordination and partnerships.

SANDAG's Transportation Committee - assists in the preparation of the Regional Transportation Plan and other regional transportation planning and programming efforts. It provides oversight for the major highway, transit, regional arterial, and regional bikeway projects funded under the Regional Transportation Improvement Program, including the TransNet Program of Projects.
