USD Center for Applied Nonprofit
Research, a SANDAN member, releases "A Spotlight on San
Diego's Third Sector" on 11/13/06. The report covers growth of
the sector during the period 2000-2004, nonprofit workforce,
local contributions, assets held, government funding, nonprofit
leadership needs and much more.

Nonprofit Management Solutions has
been chosen as new site for the Foundation Center of New York's,
Cooperating Collection Library. The Center’s initiative to
expand its network of Cooperating Collections into new areas,
makes Foundation Center resources accessible to a significantly
larger segment of the nonprofit community. The new Funding
Information Center at NMS offices will provide access
to the newest edition of FC Search: The Foundation Center’s Database
on CD-ROM, along with a core collection of Foundation Center
directories and publications.

FEC Expands Regulation to Voter Guides
The Federal Election Commission (FEC)
expands it's federal campaign finance regulation to voter guides
that do not endorse or oppose candidates if the FEC determines
the guide's overall content implies support or opposition to
federal candidates. Nonprofit agrees to pay civil penalty for
